General Osteopathic Council (GOsC)

The General Osteopathic Council GOsC was established in 1997 following the statutory recognition of osteopathy in 1993. The Statutory Register was opened in May 1998 and only those entered on the Register are entitled to call themselves osteopaths.

The General Osteopathic Council’s aims are:

1. Develop the osteopathic profession
2. Promote the understanding of osteopathic care
3. To protect the public
