Our Approach
At Osteopathic Services our approach to osteopathy still uses the traditional values taught by Andrew Taylor Still in the way that we still look at the whole person. But we use traditional medical methods to diagnose disorders and treat using a wide range of traditional osteopathic manipulative techniques.
Osteopathic manipulative technique is the name given to the “cracking” that osteopaths are famous for. The cracking noise heard sometimes during osteopathic treatment is the release of air when a joint is taken to its maximum range.
We only use this when it is necessary to do so and with your consent. You will always be well informed about any possible complications to all treatment and you are never forced in to having osteopathic manipulation (cracking) if you feel unhappy about it. With our approach to osteopathy osteopathic manipulation is generally painless and is safe when administrated by our professionals.
